Who we serve · Dealerships

Sales, service and parts, found by name.

Shoppers ask assistants which dealer carries a brand, who services their machine and who’s worth the drive. Speak Local shows which dealer gets named, and checks the inventory pages and listings the answers come from.

Free. Up to 25 pages graded across Local, SEO, AEO and GEO, usually in under a minute. No email, no card.

The short answer

How does a dealership get found in Google Maps and AI answers?

By treating sales, service and parts as the separate searches they are. Give the departments that qualify their own Google listings and hours, build a page for each brand and service you offer, make inventory pages a crawler can read without running scripts, and collect reviews from the service lane as well as the showroom. Mark the store up as an AutoDealer or MotorcycleDealer.

Questions worth tracking

What do shoppers ask before they visit a dealer?

Where to buy, where to get serviced, and who to trust. Six worth tracking:

  • Your brand dealer near me
  • Where can I get my side-by-side serviced in your area?
  • Best used truck dealer in your city
  • Which dealers near me have the model in stock?
  • Is your dealership good for service?
  • Do I have to service my motorcycle at the dealer to keep the warranty?

Examples to adapt, not data. Put the ones that bring you business to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini on a weekly or monthly round, and each answer is recorded: named, cited or absent, with whoever was named in your place. How AI answers are tracked

What engines weigh

What do Google and AI assistants weigh for a dealership?

A dealership is several businesses under one roof, and engines read it that way.

Departments are separate searches

Google’s guidelines let a department that serves the public in its own right, with its own category and hours, have its own listing, and new-car dealers can list each brand they sell. A service customer searching at 7am needs the service lane’s hours, not the showroom’s.

Inventory a crawler can read

Inventory that loads only through scripts, or sits behind filters with no crawlable addresses, is invisible to crawlers that don’t run JavaScript, and AI crawlers generally don’t. Each unit needs a real URL with its details in the page itself.

A page for each brand you sell

Shoppers search for the brand and the town together. A page for each brand you’re authorized for, saying what you stock, service and carry parts for, gives that search somewhere to land.

Service reviews count too

Ask the service lane for reviews as well as the sales floor. “Fixed my clutch the same day” answers a question shoppers put to assistants: who to trust with their machine.

Schema

Which schema should a dealership use?

AutoDealer or MotorcycleDealer for the store, both schema.org automotive businesses. Describe the service department as an AutoRepair or MotorcycleRepair with its own hours and phone, linked through department.

For inventory, Google supports vehicle listing markup (Car with an Offer) on each vehicle’s page in the US. Speak Local’s scanner reads every automotive type as entity schema on your homepage.

Worth adding
  • department for service and parts, each with its own hours
  • telephone per department, matching each listing
  • Car or Vehicle with an Offer on each unit’s page
  • sameAs for your entry in each manufacturer’s dealer locator

Check it with Google’s Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator before it goes live.

Where to start

Where should a dealership start?

In this order. The second one usually needs your website vendor.

  1. Sort out your departments on Google

Claim any service and parts listings that already exist, give each its own hours and phone, and make sure their names don’t collide with the showroom’s.

  2. Make inventory crawlable

Check that each unit has its own URL with its details in the HTML. Your scan reports how many words each page serves before any script runs.

  3. A page for each brand and each service

The brands you’re authorized for, and services such as tires, inspections and winterizing.

  4. Ask the service lane for reviews

Every repair order, the same way, with nothing offered in return.

  5. Track the questions that sell units

Brand-and-town questions on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, against the dealers who already get named.

How we help

How does Speak Local help a dealership?

Every plan includes all of it. See the full platform for how the pillars combine into one score.

Rendering checks — how many words each page serves before any script runs, so script-only inventory gets caught
Crawler access — your site fetched as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, with any firewall block named
A map grid around the store — brand and service searches run from up to 49 points, reading twenty deep at each
AI answers — shoppers’ questions put to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, with the dealers named instead of you
Assistants as a traffic source — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and the rest named in your analytics instead of buried in Referral
Reviews by location — every store’s Google reviews in one inbox, replied to from here
Questions

Asked and answered.

Can our sales and service departments have separate Google listings?
Often, yes. Google’s guidelines allow departments that serve the public as distinct entities, with their own category and hours, to have their own listings, and new-car dealers can have a listing for each brand they sell. Check Google’s current guidelines against your setup before you create one.
Our website runs on a dealer platform. Can we still fix things?
Most fixes go through the platform vendor: schema, robots.txt, crawlable inventory URLs. Speak Local’s fix list gives each one a plain-English why and how that you can forward as it is, and the next scan checks the vendor’s work.
Do AI assistants read dealer inventory?
Sometimes, when they can. Some answers draw on marketplaces and listing sites instead of the dealer’s own pages. Speak Local records which sites each answer cited, so you can see whether your site or a marketplace is getting the credit.
Is powersports different from car dealerships?
The principles are the same; the searches differ. Model-year units, a page for each make you carry, service for machines that arrive on a trailer, and demand that follows the seasons. Track the questions your own customers ask rather than a generic list.
Can a dealer group track every store?
Yes. Stores on one website are locations in a single project, up to 25 of them, each with its own market, listing, reviews and rankings. Stores with their own websites are separate projects: the Freelancer plan covers ten, and Agency is unlimited.
